iCARBON4 FINANCE
Carbon4 Finance
Carbon4 Finance, the financial-data arm of consultancy Carbone 4, supplies climate and biodiversity datasets built for investors and banks, covering transition (carbon impact), physical risk and nature. Its physical-risk database scores acute and chronic hazards — including floods, wildfires, coastal flooding, urban heat and water stress — at sub-activity level across more than sixty sectors and over two hundred countries, under IPCC scenarios to 2050 and 2100, mapped to listed corporates, sovereigns and loans. Biodiversity impact is assessed via the Global Biodiversity Score developed with CDC Biodiversité. A European data provider oriented to French Article 29 and ISSB-style climate disclosure requirements.
Vendor methodology
Transparency Score
BetaPublic transparency, not model quality iThe Transparency Score (0–3) estimates public methodological transparency: the degree to which the vendor's analytical approach to modeling climate and nature risk can be assessed from publicly available sources. It is explicitly not a measure of vendor quality or accuracy.
Methodology-relevant: vendor websites or external resources explain methodological details.
Methodology-relevant: public methodological guides for all three axes — CIA (transition: bottom-up over 75 sectors, top-down estimators for 1,200+ activities, 1-15 rating, explicit double-counting treatment), CRIS (physical: location hazards x sector vulnerability) and BIA-GBS (biodiversity, with CDC Biodiversite) — make the approach reconstructable; parameters partly proprietary.
