SaferPlaces Platform, SaferPlaces API

SaferPlaces originated in an EIT Climate-KIC research project and provides cloud-based mapping of pluvial, fluvial and coastal flood hazard and risk for urban areas under present and future climate conditions. The platform builds a digital twin of a city from open geospatial and climate data, applies DEM-based hydraulic routing and Bayesian damage functions, and converts physical damage into economic loss. Outputs support adaptation appraisal, cost-benefit analysis of mitigation measures, parametric insurance and risk disclosure. Distinctive for coupling urban flood scenarios with economic damage modelling.
